Discuss.
(This is relevant to West Ham because in celebration of us winning yesterday I drank some.)

I ordered one in a restaurant on Saturday just for a change, it came out a light purple colour and had small colourful flowers in it, my sexuality was questioned but it was so nice I ordered another couple
Middle age has changed me it seems

Originally drunk by MEN of the British East India Company, which is about as manly as you can get. And the Queen Mother.

I'm quite partial to a g and t once I'm completely bloated after my 27 pints.
Massive business nowadays with all the tarts refusing to drink anything other than hendricks or the Indian stuff.
Literally tastes no different.

I never even knew it was considered a women’s drink. The only association I have with it is the old British Empire in the tropics.
If you don’t drink it because you think it’s a women’s drink, you’re a bit of a fanny.

If I liked it, I'd drink it.
It's horrible., so I don't.
When I was younger, I moved in circles where port was considered a woman's drink. It didn't stop me from drinking it.(although I gave port and lemon a swerve).
I also drank an "old man's drink", Mackeson's, but now I'm an old man, I don't like it.

I hate the smell let alone taste- only time I've found it semi acceptable was a large Tanqueray with Tonic and a big slice of Cucumber- the Cucumber smell probably masked the smell of Mothers ruin!!!

Mothers ruin
I like a gin and tonic on a hot day.
I think tonic water contains or did contain quinine which helped to ward off malaria in the tropics.
It’s got quite a history in this country and was the 18th century version of crack cocaine amongst the poor and destitute.
Very popular with Dorises at the moment.

I had an experience when I was 17 at a party that I was drinking pints of Gin and Orange... was meant to be playing Cricket the next day and there was no way I was getting on my Lambretta and driving 25+ miles to wherever it was we was playing... so got the team capt to pick me up in his brand new car (he was a copper and bought teh motor with all teh overtime he got beating up miners in South Yorkshire... cunt) ... so I spent the whole morning hurling up at home and the next hour or so hurling up in a carrier bag in the back of this coppers car... the smell will live with me forever.... 1984.... never drunk Gin since....

Gin, cursed Fiend, with Fury fraught, Makes human Race a Prey. It enters by a deadly Draught And steals our Life away. Virtue and Truth, driv'n to Despair Its Rage compells to fly, But cherishes with hellish Care Theft, Murder, Perjury. Damned Cup! that on the Vitals preys That liquid Fire contains, Which Madness to the heart conveys, And rolls it thro' the Veins.

Yeah, I was looking up Gin Lane in Wikipedia yesterday when Nurse mentioned gin. Interesting to think that it was once considered the equivalent of crack. What a shitty life you must lead to sacrifice it to gin.
